You do not need to use this advice sheet, this is more for those whom are struggling with creating a new character. However there are a few things worth taking a peek at on here to avoid conflict in the future.

Okay! So you want to join the Poison Night Pack? Nice choice! I'm Alpha Ghost, and I'll be helping you come up with some fancy ideas for your spanking new character!

First and foremost, the character must be a werewolf which can either be biped, quadruped or both. They can have a human form, but this is to be kept out of the RP - this is a 'permanent' change. Oh, and your character must be recognisably a wolf - no crossbreeds or similar-looking dogs, please!

An appearance is always a good start, and then you can build from there. Will your werewolf be stocky and powerful? Or slim and fast. There is so much you can do with body type, me for example, I'm a large muscled quadruped, which is perfect for fighting, who can also stand as a biped for say, reaching up to high places.

What colour should your character be? Well, the answer to that - any colour! However, take into consideration, if you go around as a neon yellow wolf you'd be a bit obvious and won't be very good with hunting or anything like that. So that's always an important factor to think about, but there's nothing wrong with unusual colour. You should see Alpha Cobalt... He's completely blue!

Once you have a basic idea in your head, you can start thinking about the pros and cons of what they can do. Do they have some type of magical power? Or are they dependent on their brute strength?

If you're thinking magic or some form of mystic power and not sure about it, think about elements, fire, water, air and earth. Anything interesting there? No? Well have a poke around the internet and see if there's anything specific, are they psychic in some way or form? Or are they just really good at fighting?

Be careful with powers!

Why? You may be using someone else's idea that's already in play!

When you are about to make your character, take a look at the 'Powers and their Owners' list (linked in the description), this way you can become aware of the type of powers that have already been taken by other members – you never know, it might inspire you to think of something new and exclusive!

If the power you want is already in use and you reeeeaaally want it, ping off a note to the person that already has the power and discuss terms between yourselves - some characters like to be unique and would prefer it that there weren't any other wolves like themselves around. So don't be offended if they say no! Instead of getting worked up about it, how about trying a power that's the opposite? Nothing like a little friendly rivalry!

Or maybe you don't want a power, there's nothing wrong with that! It's always good to have a few normal wolves around to bring everyone back down to earth and really it's encouraged to have a few regular werewolves hanging around.

You've probably seen a few Gods (Like Delmare, Gaia and Damien) floating around, you may think cool! I want one too! Stop! These are for more experienced players in the pack, for those that can prove that they can play more than one character at once. So give it some time before you jump in and make a god, but hang onto any ideas you have for one!

If you want to bring in an NPC (Non Player Character), we ask that you send an application to us and trial them first in a one-shot story arc before we decide whether you can bring them back full-time. That's just so the Alphas can weigh up their usefulness to the plot and make sure it won't be a problem later on. Don't get put out if we say no, another idea might just be accepted!

So once you've dealt with that, a personality is in order! You can relate this to their power, do they wield lightning? Maybe they could have a hyperactive and unpredictable behaviour. Do they wield water or ice? They could be cool and calm and rarely angry. Unless they're the opposite and wield fire, being temperamental and moody.

There's so many different options to be explored!

After that, a history is always good to have, you don't need a full on novel about this, a brief summary is more than enough. Was your wolf exiled from their old pack? Or were they a lone wolf? The only thing you can't have is a wolf from the 'original' pack that lived in the territory (The Delmare Defenders), because only a few (NPC) wolves and I, Ghost, are the last remaining wolves of that bloodline, for the original pack were slaughtered in battle. If you want to be a relation, descendant or sibling of an existing pack member, asking the character first is an absolute must!

So you have your looks, your power (or not) and your history!

That should be all you need for a basic starting point, but remember to make sure that your character is within power limits. Something to work from is if the four Alphas (Cobalt, Ghost, Tasha and AJ) can't take you on together in a fight and win, your wolf is far too powerful and you'd need to consider a tone down.

Also, weaknesses, you must must must define your weaknesses to make your character more respectable. To find out that a new wolf has joined the pack with only one minor weakness and immune to everything else - you're not going to be impressed...

It might be a weakness to an element, or a phobia that causes real trouble on the battlefield (scared of blood, for instance), or only being able to use your powers in a certain place or when certain conditions are met. For example, take Alpha Cobalt - his powers revolve around plants, so his weakness is that he loses strength when there aren't enough of them around him. Another weakness could be purely physical: your character could be fast but not strong, or well-built but not agile enough to dodge blows easily. It's an important thing to think about.

So yeah! If you're unsure how to lay out your profile, have a look in the 'Featured' section in our gallery and you'll find a template there which can help you. If you ever need help with character creation, the Alphas and Betas are always on hand to help!

Happy creating!
